I don't know if the APA and ABA mark points the same or not; however, this doesn't jive with the ABA's "General Scale of Points." For the ABA there are more categories, and the numbers of points assigned are different. And to further complicate matters, the number of points assigned to each vary by certain characteristics such as whether the breed has a crest/tassel, muffs & beard, crest, muff & beards, certain comb types, etc.
The Bantam Standard also has specifics for adding or deducting based upon very strict criteria. You start with 100 points and deduct or add points. For example, incorrectly coloured eyes deduct 2 points, absence of toe nails are one point per missing nail.
Some specific variances from the above chart (2005 Bantam Standard) are:
Back:........................... 12 points
Beak:........................... 3 points
Body & Stern:.............. 8 points
Breast:........................ 10 points
Comb:........................... 5 points
Condition & Vigor:....... 10 points
Ear lobes:..................... 4 points
Eyes:............................ 4 points
Head & Face:................ 4 points
Shanks & Toes:............ 8 points
Neck:............................ 6 points
Symmetry:.................... 4 points
Tail:.............................. 8 points
Wattles:....................... 2 points
Weight & Size:............. 4 points
Wings:......................... 8 points
Point breakdown between shape and colour for each category differs between white and other than white birds.
