What rooster should I get?

I have a mixture of baby chicks that are bantam and full-size. All of the full-size chickens are pullets but the bantams are straight run colorful egg varieties. Would you suggest keeping 1 bantam rooster?

Depends why you are keeping a rooster. I personally prefer bantam roosters as they are easier on hens.

Mostly bantam cochins, d'uccle, and some bantam Easter eggers, as well as mixes of all those breeds. Most of my roosters are bantam cochins.

@oldhenlikesdogs I bought some bantams a week and half ago. And my smallest chick is a silver duck wing cockerel. He is so tiny!
But I’m excited to have him.

@Novicechickgal I have only had LF roosters, but my favorites of them have been the Speckled Sussex and the Cream Legbar.
If you do choose a LF roo, the Sussex are generally a gentle breed. I’ve got two week old Speckled Sussex chicks right now. (Hatched in incubator)
If I have more than one male, I will gladly give you one if you live close enough to middle Tennessee - Cumberland Mountains.
