What sex are my BR chicks?

Cool! They have no wattles at all so far and one hardly even has a comb. Maybe I will try with better light tomorrow.

BTW, I was hoping they'd be free range chickens (no dogs, fenced acres, horse poop to scratch). But when would it be safe to let them roam?

I don't allow mine to freerange till they're at least 13-15 weeks old and large enough to get away from the Big Girls. Till then, they're separate in their own pen.

Well, I don't have any other chickens (these poor gals are my first). I let them out to wander the stall somtimes but I'm worried a cat will jump in and then they'll be stuck. Would they be able to get away or is this a bad idea until they're bigger or unless I fence off the stall?
