Orpington cross barred rock and shaver. Three months old
I think they're all roos? There are 5 all up think I missed one (pretty sure it's a hen tho) but I'm insure on the speckly ones (Orpington/barred rock)
I actually think they’re all hens. That’s what they look like to me. Three months is about the age hens start to grow out they’re combs and wattles and then they could be laying within the next month to 7 or 8 months old. Most start at about 5 or 6 months, but I’ve had hens that start a four.
If they're only 12 weeks it may still be a little early for male feathering. Some birds have it by then but some take longer. Anywhere from 12-15 weeks is normal.
They are exactly 12 weeks today! Haha, so could be to early? I have another red/brown i think same parentsas this one, that is definitely a hen its slightly older so I think the brown is definitely a cockeral.
Do bigger breeds take more time to show feathers?
