Ok, I bought what I thought was a male. Well my other male was trying to mate with it. Are rabbits like male dogs who will mount anything that moves? If not, then he is a she. I looked under the skirt and it is hard to tell. The rabbit in question is a Flemish Giant about 3 months old. I guess the question is, will male rabbits mount other males or just the females?

well I saw a male rabbit mount a balloon so Im guessing their like dogs.

They will mount other males, especially young ones. It's a dominance/pecking order thing. I always house each young buck seperately. They can get nasty to each other.

At three months old, you should see the start of his scrotum. If you flip him on his back and look at him you'll see 2 holes close together: the lower one is the anus. If you press gently, but firmly, above the second hole you can tell the sex. At 3 months old on the male, the penis should come out completely, slightly curved with a pointy tip. The female will have what looks like a loop or a slit. Hope that helps.

I've seen a female mount another female. Cattle do it, dogs do it, etc.....it can be for many reasons.

We have two fixed bunnies (one of each sex). The sister is always mounting her brother (she prefers his head area). It's weird, she's very aggressive for being fixed.

FYI - if you have two male rabbits together you might want to either separate them or have them fixed. My understanding is that unfixed male rabbits may try to castrate each other.
