I purchased these golden sexlink pullets from a feed store. They didn't have any info on them. They're obviously not laying yet, but I have no idea what age they are and how long they have until they become layers. They're growing really fast already. I'm still new to this though. I know chicken scratch should be given more as a snack/treat, but then I'm reading that laying feed should not be given until they are laying. So what exactly do I feed them? Are they too old for the medicated chick feed?

Scratch is a treat to be used sparingly. Use a starter/grower up to point of lay. When you see that first egg move on to layer feed.

I would feed them unmedicated chick starter/grower until they all are laying then switch to layer feed. As they get near laying age, offer crushed oyster shell in a separate dish.

I'm thinking they're around 3ish months. Feed them grower or unmedicated starter. You can switch to layer once they start laying, or continue with the grower (that's what I do) and offer oyster shells on the side to increase the calcium intake.

I bought organic starter feed today. Thanks everyone!
