Okay so my grandfather has a HUGE! coop WITH a covered run. Any ways i plan on using it as a grow out pen for my chicks this year. Right now it needs some cleaning up and cleaning out, basically the crap needs to be scraped out of it. It currently has one lone peacock in it, once its cleaned out i plan on spraying it down with bleach, is there anything else i should do? I plan on getting the peacock tested for AI, puroullum(sp?) is there anything else i should do?

While it is empty. I would treat for mites. They like to hide . .. and then infest the new arrivals.

I use adams flea and tick spray, but there are many suggestions on this topic. Just do a SEARCH at the top of this page on MITES and you will come up with many suggestiongs for treating the coop and / or treating birds.
