My neighbor is going to give me two young andalusians to add to my flock because she's moving away. One's a pullet, and the other is a cockerel. I love the soft grey plumage and would love to keep the cockerel as my roo. However, I have young children in the family and need a non-aggressive rooster. Are andalusians known to be aggressive? Also, are they dual-purpose or just egglayers?

Thanks!

P.S. I know this isn't a "what breed or gender is this?" question. But I could not find a good place to post this. Sorry!

Interesting. I guess I'll just get the rooster and if he isn't a good fit I'll try and find someone who wants him. Thanks for replying, redrooster99!

You're welcome the rooster look really cool if there the blue variety which is blue(laced).

Yeah have fun with them they are very rare and beautiful birds I used to have a splash hen she would not let me catch her

For anyone who's interested... Below are the cockerel and the pullet. You can tell which is which, I'm sure. :) They are beautiful, if I do say so myself. They are obviously not full-grown, but they already show potential.

How is that roo working out with children? I had to kill mine after it attacked our 7 year old boy.

shame... he was a good looking bird.
