Here is my new coop that I built this spring. What should I use for bedding inside my coop and nesting boxes? I have sandstone in my run and it works well, they poop and then it rains and filters through the stone a down hill into the yard. I also have a small section filled with sand where they can roll. I will cover it in the winter so i guess i will have to put some bedding in there to. I have a total of 9 birds.

I use wood shavings in the coop and hay in the nesting boxes and it has worked well. The main thing is to make sure nothing you put in is getting eaten by the chickens or they can get impacted.

I like the sand stone idea! I use the pine shavings in mine they aren't that expensive and easy to clean up. I hope this helps!
