What Temperature Can I Begin Taking and Leaving My Turkeys Outdoors?

My turkeys and chickens are at least 5 to 6 weeks old. The turkeys have pretty much begun to outgrow their bin and we are preparing to transfer them to their new home outdoors, but uncertain as to when the right temperature would be. Some mornings we experience 68 degrees temps in Oklahoma, but it feels like its in the 70's. We don't want all the work we've invested wasted by causing them to get sick in placing them outdoors before its time. We have had all our birds outdoors on warmer days and they love it. Does any one have any suggestions?

My layers were out of their box as soon as they didn't seem to care about the heat lamp. I gave them two days to acclimate then left the door open for them to roam with the older birds after that. It was about 40 degrees out, just warm enough to be out with a sweatshirt, not a coat.

My set-up is a little different that most, though. My flock lives in an insulated garage/workshop with rabbits, so the ambient temperature was always up. The door is propped open for escape if they choose, and if they all huddled inside I just closed it up so the ambient temperature would rise.

I'm in northern Minnesota and I've got 6 week old chicks outside in an in insulated coop and they are doin fine. Past few mornings its been in low 50's.
let them, they'll love it. But I agree, maybe give them a heat lamp for a few nights so they do have the option to warm up if they need to
