Forgive the pun, but I'm reading where people are saying they only have a small flock, or some have a fairly good size flock. I'm curious as to what the actual numbers are though that you all use to determine your flock size. I can't even IMAGINE how big a flock some must have if they are hatching hundreds in the incubator! 😳❤️ I currently have 6 pullets, 2 cockerels, 13 in the brooder and 5 eggs going strong in the incubator. Would y'all consider that a small but growing flock? I'm embarrassed to admit how easily confused I am😂

To me, a "small flock" would be less than ten. A medium size would be under 20, and any over that a large. But that's just me. Other people may have different numbers in their heads. I have 17 chickens and 8 guineas in a coop, and it seems like a lot of birds!

I have a total of 7 birds. I think of it as a small flock. I might add up to 3 more, and then I'd think of it as small-ish medium sized.

My neighbor has 35; 14 are chicks she just got over the weekend. To me, that's a large flock.
