i had a hen lay an egg about that size thought for sure that it was a double or triple,
cracked it open and it was one huge yoke that yoke was the size of a silver dollar.

It was my leghorn that did that. The white egg in the front row is hers too, which is already large. She usually leaves immediately after laying, but this time she sat a while recovering. Poor thing...

We get two or three a day- it isn't hard to get used to having eggs like that. So far the two girls that produce them regularly are fine- they're our biggest!
