What to do with a Senior only chicken

We too are newly in this situation...little Rhonda died today two months short of her third bithday. Now we have her buddy, Karolina all alone. She seems to be doing okay, eating, sctatching, preening, hanging out with us. We have put a ticking clock in the coop and bundled up a towel. We are trying to habituated her to a stuffed bear...she is a bit afraid of the black eyes so we put the bear on it's stomach so Karolina can only see the back...she will approach it and even eat treats off of it. We'll see how she is tomorrow and maybe add the bear to the coop tomorrow.
