what to do with broken off feathers

my chickens eat each others feathers
do I have to pluck the quills out or will they grow new feathers that push the old quill out?

You don't have to do anything new feathers will grow on their own.

but what about the big quills stuck in the skin..I am new at this lol

Sometimes I see my hens with a couple of broken feathers. I don't do anything about it and new feathers still grow. Think in the wild, junglefowl would get some broken feathers all the time. They don't get tweezers and pluck it out.

Pull quill stubs and up protein in diet a little to slow feather picking.
