One of our chicks hatched a couple of hours ago a day early (day 20) and is doing well. However its knocking into all the other eggs, especially the two that have pipped. As its a day early and some other eggs will be hatching in two days, will its movement hurt or prevent the other chicks from hatching? what should I do thanks

You can move him to the brooder if it's all up to temp.
Congrats on the baby!!!

thank you!
I'm worried about shrink-wrapping, what should I do to increase humidity levels?
Opening the Incubator won't instantly shrink wrap chicks. It only happens when you leave the incubator at low humidity for 12 hours, or a couple days.

thank you!

It is safe to remove it. I remove hatched chicks asap after hatching, because my incubator is tough to clean, and if you leave them in very long they'll poop on everything.
You won't shrink wrap them if you go fast. I like to mist the eggs with warm water right after I remove the chick, but before I close the incubator.

What type of incubator do you use? If you get an Incuview incubator, it'll be easy to clean.

My old one I need to unscrew the platform to get to bottom, & water trough to clean it out.

My Nurture Right 360.
I have to let the trays soak, and scrub out the water channels after each hatch. It's some work. I was torn between the Incuview and the NR, but the NR outweighed the Incuview in all respects, in my opinion. I love it. Cleaning is the only tough thing.
