Ok, so I have only one chick out so far. It's day 20. No other pips. The chick is already dry and dying for attention. I don't know whether it is better to leave it by itself in the bator at least until tomorrow night, or put it in the brooder alone. What to do? I have a few older chicks I hatched two weeks ago, but they are much bigger so I don't want to try to put her in there with them, they'll probably peck her raw.

Oh, I feel sorry for you and the lonely chick. I had one call duck hatch last year all by itself. It was so upset being alone that I tracked someone down on craigslist that had day olds and bought a couple to throw in with her.

I'd leave her in the incubator. If the other chicks in there are peeping, at least that will keep her company until they hatch.

Poor little chick!

I would leave it as well though because like the other poster said...it can hear the other peeps and it will encourage the others to hatch.Hope all goes well
