We had a lot of rain and my eggs are very muddy. I've heard not to wash eggs that go in the bator. What do I do? The mud doesn't just flake off it's painted on pretty good.

If they got that wet, eat them. You want eggs that have not been wet to put in the bator. A small amount of dirt can be brushed off, but not wet mud.

i agree. don't put eggs that have been too wet in the incubator. i would just wash and eat them, and possible keep your nest box dry and up off the ground? we replace the straw in our nest boxes almost daily. it keeps the chickens happy and laying.
