Afternoon everybody not sure if this is the right place to post this question...
I have chickens and ferrets and for the last year I've been using my ferret litter around the chicken run to dissuade other predators from entering it has worked out really good one of the things that I've noticed is it seems to make really good compost. In the areas where I've been spreading the ferret litter there has been an increase in growth of plants as well as an abundance of other insect . Please keep in mind that the litter base is hardwood pellets for wood burning stoves and it's what I scoop out of the litter pans from the ferrets whom are all healthy and on a raw meat diet.
So I was thinking on spreading it with in the chicken run; which is about 2/3 of my backyard (please see pictures). To encourage plant re growth and additional insects. Any ideas on whether this will be good idea or not?
