Hey all, I am currently incubating 7 eggs that are due to hatch in a little over 2 weeks and am concerned about what to feed the ducklings. No starter feed is available for ducklings where I live nor is unmedicated chicken feed of any sort. I feed my 3 fully grown ducks a measured blend of various grains along with fish and supplement their diet with other food on occasion. They have a couple of hundred square yards of foraging space and are in good health.

Ducklings are locally raised on a very unbalanced diet consisting primarily of millet. I have acceess to the majority of grains, fruits, vegetables, and sea food that most people are familiar with as well as bakers yeast (but not brewer's). I'd like to know what I can feed them (especially with regard to grain, pulses, etc) and how it should be prepared. Any help would be really appreciated. And please don't worry about proportions, once I understand what my options are I can calculate how much of what I need. Thanks in advance!

Are you able to get a copy of Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks? It has instructions on how to mix your own duckling rations. It comes in both print and electronic form. I would post it for you, but that would be a copyright violation. You might also want to check out this link-->http://metzerfarms.blogspot.com/2011/03/mixing-your-own-duck-feed-and-goose.html to see if it helps.
