I just got a few ducks at the feed store. I have had chickens for about 4-5 years now, and upon looking online, many places said I need to add yeast to the chick food for my baby ducks. Do I need to this in the food, I am worried about the chicks having problems with it, but don't want to separate the birds.

Ducks need more niacin than chickens and it's very important for their development. All sorts of problems can arise with their legs if they don't have it. Check with your feed store and see if they carry a duck-specific feed. Many do. You can add brewer's yeast to their feed daily and this gives them extra niacin. Some birds, like pekins, might need even more than that, in which case you might need to have liquid vitamin B complex on hand. This gives them a large boost and will keep their leg development on track.

If your feed store doesn't have a Duck-Specific feed you can go with a All flock feed/Purina raiser feed or you can feed chick starter as long as you add a supplemental source of niacin. Stay around the duck forums for a few days and you'll see why Ducklings need Niacin.
