what to feed roosters

I have a 14 wk old Ameracauna rooster who is a bottomless pit. Is he missing something in his diet? He is on a chick finisher crumble.
When my hens start to lay can he eat the layer pellets as well?

Welcome to BYC! No he can't eat layer feed, but they ALL can have an all flock type feed. I feed Purina Flock Raiser to all my chickens, chicks, hens, rooster, and they love it and don't waste it....

If you feed an all flock feed, you offer oyster shell on the side.

If the roo is kept with the hens, yes you can feed everyone the same feed. It's not practical to try and feed different feeds in the same flock. Here is a long discussion about this exact question.

My BCM roo is around 16 weeks and lately he seems like a bottomless pit too, eating grower feed. He gets grumbly in the morning if breakfast is late. Must be a teenager thing.
