What to feed?

I have 5 mo. old hens and then I have 8-9 wk old chicks in the same cage. What is the best thing to feed them? Today I stopped by TSC and bought Dumor finisher? I was almost out of food(out of town for a few days) I usually buy Nutrena. I am so confused. I don't want to make the girls sick. Please help.

the consensus seems to be feed grower until they start laying, then you should feed layer to the adults and grower to the younger ones.

Easiest way to do this is hang the adult feeder higher so the little ones can't reach it.

I just feed flock raiser to both groups and offer oyster shell. Seems to be working for me, but it's not recommended.

Thanks, that is what I will do. Feed the grower until the big girls start to lay. Which I am beginning to think may never be.

You should feed the chicks Chick Starter. And for the other hens you should you should feed them scratch and layena. But only feed them scratch when it is cool because it increases their body heat. The is to buy purina mills.
