I posted this in the "Geese" breed section, but thought I'd post here too. Hope that's ok!

I have a mixed-age and mixed-species "flock" (only 3 little ones). I have a 4 week old Cayuga, 2 week old Rouen and just about 1.5 week old Embden. Is it about time to change their food from chick starter? If so...what now? Just adult "waterfowl feed"? Do I need to supplement with greens/peas/oats/niacin? Thanks in advance!

Newb here and just want to make sure I"m doing all that's necessary to raise 3 healthy babies!

Yes You can slowly change them over and the greens and peas they will relish. Give them plenty of exercise and enjoy your young quackers and honker.

Awesome! I'll go out and get some "big bird" food tomorrow while I still have enough baby starter to gradually switch them! Thanks! Dunno what I'd do without this great forum and even greater people! <3

Get game bird pellets, it contains niacin. If you are feeding chick starter now, they are not getting enough niacin. You should switch to game bird starter crumbles.

If you can get gamebird pellets with less than 18% protien. And right before the wing pin feathers appear I'd go14-16%. The whole thing is you do not want to them to get angelwing. Esp. your goose. Add greens and exercise and you will have no problems during this important phase (wing development)
