Starting my garden, and I want to plant things for the ducks. I've read Fresh Eggs Daily and The Resilient Gardener, and picked some things out from those to plant, but I'd like to know everyone's experiences of gardening for ducks. What do they like best? I'd LOVE to be able to grow all their food, but I'm not sure that's feasible. I do have a greenhouse I'm going to try to keep some lettuce and herbs growing in the winter in, and we do have a long growing season (zone 8B). Anyway, really looking for what your ducks love most, so I can be sure to grow it!

the majority of my birds live in my cottage garden.
The garden consists of lavender, leyandii, buddleia, rudbeckia, Nippon daisy, petunia, Japanese maple, Cytisus broom, fox glove, sedum autumn joy, giant and dwarf sunflowers, laurel, rhododendron, Delphinium, strawberries, monkey flower, ligularia, Montbretia,
57 various different roses from hybrid tea roses to old garden roses, sunflowers such as giants, reds and teddy bears.

Oh wow that is absolutely beautiful. Some lucky ducks!

Oh, I'm sure the lettuce will be a hit! Never met a waterfowl who didn't lose their mind over leafy greens.

I'm planning on growing marigolds - super easy to grow & save seeds from, typically a big hit. I'll probably toss 'em a few cherry tomatoes from my plants as well. And I'll probably comb through my wildflower mixes to see what's poisonous & what's not.

Oh, that is so beautiful. Something in a dream! Your ducks must be in "hog heaven" as we say in the south! That is NOT an insult in any way!
