Ok,I'm going to assume that it's pretty wet there most of the year, sometimes very cold.
You're going to want something a bit deeper so they don't slide and hurt themselves, most people like wood shaving.

It snows. But we have 3 vents that are covered with awning. And a fan

Are they vents you put in or the ones that came with the shed?
You're going to want to have 1 sq foot of ventilation per bird, year round.
It's essential so they don't cook in the summer or suffer from ammonia/water vapor build up, especially in winter, that can cause respiratory issues .
