For some reason the search only turns up chicken foot baths... I'm wondering what I can use to clean shoes with, to prevent the spread of avian influenza. You know, the foot bath in front of the chicken premises. The official list of products is incredibly long and I'm having a hard time figuring out which one to pick (or if it even matters). If it doesn't matter, then which would be the easiest to find?

Yes.
So probably best to get footwear that you don't care about ruining the colour of.
For my regular chicken shoes, I wouldn't care as much. However, we're holding a small birthday party for our kids in our backyard, and I want to disinfect the guests' shoes just in case. We have wild ducks in our area, including on school property and the neighborhood park, so I'm not entirely comfortable with a bunch of school kids in my backyard, but we can't afford to rent a venue this year so it's either that or no birthday party :( Nobody would be going into the chicken run, and the chickens don't free range, I just want to be extra careful. And I can't be bleaching the guests' shoes if it's going to damage the color...

Alcohol? Microban or lysol spray?
