What to use to build a compost pile?

What would be a good thing to use to make a compost pile? any ideas and pictures would be appreciated. thank you!

Grass clippings, table scraps, and the old bedding from your birds will work. Oh and make sure that if you do use grass clippings make sure they haven't been treated with any pesticides or herbicides as it will taint the compost
