What to use when tagging (around leg) of chickens??? Twist ties?

I want to be able to tell my three chickens apart. I just put on twist ties, the kind you find on bread at the store. I dont like them because they are touching the skin on their legs and they smush them when the chicken sits.

I want something that is VERY easy to take off.

Are zip ties ok?

What are some good "around the home" things I can use around their legs?

We use zip ties on our Blue Silky hens, to tell the two apart. Just make sure you don't "zip" them down too tight and they'll be fine.

And if they are still growing, look at the legs specifically, on a regular basis. Their legs can grow right over a band....
