What took my pigeon?

I went out tonight to feed my pigeons, who live in my chicken run/house, and my very favorite one who always came running and eats from my hand seemingly just vanished:( I really don't think there was any way for it to get out, so I am pretty sure a predator took him, but I can't figure out what. I live in the city and have honestly never seen any predators.

My run is made from the premade wooden fence panels, with bird netting over the top to keep hawks out and chickens and pigeons in, and the whole thing is inside a chain link and wooden fence that surrounds my whole backyard. If I lived in the country I am sure something would dig in, or rip the netting open, but here in the city this has worked for me for a couple years.

The problem is I can't figure out what took him, or where they got in and out. There are no holes dug under the fence and the netting is not ripped anywhere that I can see. Also this happened somewhere in between afternoon and early evening, which is not normal predator prime time.

There may be a few tiny gaps here or there, but they are really small (too small for even my bantams or pigeons to get out) and I didn't find feathers by any of them like something dragged my pigeon out... There do seem to be more pigeon feathers on the ground than when I last looked, but they are not even the same color as the pigeon that is missing (most my pigeons are white, but the missing one is grizzled), and they are just sprinkled around randomly. Any ideas? I feel helpless because I don't know how to protect the rest of pigeons and my chickens since I can't even figure out who got in or where!

I suspect 2 legged predator . I keep pigeons, and there are feathers near them constantly. If there was a animal predator, only a flying one would be able to catch your pigeon. .. It can also be that someone opened the enclosure and your pigeon flew the coop. If your pigeons are homeset, then he will return.

WISHING YOU BEST...

Good news, I found the pigeon in the morning roosting in my garage... must have escaped somehow without me realizing! Luckily since he is tame he hopped down onto my arm when he saw me hoping for food! So I am very happy! He is a Utility King, so fi he had gone farther I don't know that he would have found a way back.

Thanks on the name! I actually teach Latin at a classical school, so it's appropriate!
