you are right. there must be a genetic fault in the line. feet are pink and body is black/pink spots. so bummed!!

I wonder if it was something introduced far down the line to get something introduced. Do you know who the parents are?

I can trace a few of them back to the lady i bought my original white 5 from. Hatched eggs from those. i only kept 1 hen and 1 rooster. bought a buff hen from another person, she had chicks from that rooster. Gave that rooster away. Kept a nice rooster from the buff. My buff died so I purchased 3 black hens from another person. I think thexwhite offspring us creating tge issues. I am going to separate her from being bread and put her in with some others. I was hoping the genetic faults were bread out but it might take a while. Its a bummer really.

The skin color is wrong for a silkie

the body of this chick is black and the feet have started to darken but not to black. someone bought her so i will ask for updates on her color.
