My silkie and bantum hens are starting to haych their eggs today! I know that none of the eggs they are sitting on belong to them. I also know thay my Rhode Island Red Roo is the father to all. My question is, does anyone know how I can tell which chicks came from which hens by looks? The eggs they are hatching will have came from white leghorn hens, australorp hens, barred rock hens, RIR hens, and ISA Brown hens. I know i will be able to pickout the full stock rhode island chicks, and the chicks that came from the barred rock hens because they should make black sex links, but im not sure what to expect from my other breeds. I am especially curious what the White leghorn henx rhode island red roo will create. I will post pics once they have hatched!

RIR x White Leghorn will likely produce males and females that both look like ISA females, or rhode island reds.
RIR x australorp will be black and grow up to have some red or gold feathers in the neck mostly.
RIR x Isa Browns will be red or red and white like red sexlink hens.
RIR x Barred Rock hens will also be sexlinked. Chicks will be black but males will have a white spot on their head.
If you need any more help this Chicken Calculator works great :) You only need to know a few of the basic chicken genetics stuff.
