Well, looks like I'm going to be in the chick hatching "business." It's unclear IF my hen will ever be broody so I'll be making a homemade incubator. I still have lots of questions but the first is, what will they look like? Obviously they won't be anything but a "mutt" breed. That's ok with me.

Yeah, they'll be mutts, but likely to be great layers, nonetheless. Coloring won't be particularly great looking, imho, but it that shouldn't stop you.

He can still perform without crowing. Maybe he doesn't feel he has to crow yet.

He will perform at some stage. Maybe, you should have kept the biggest and eaten the smallest instead. LOL That would get some better results
