What would be some preferred forage?

I have an area inside the barnyard that I would like to plant, under screens, with forage for my chickens, guineas, and geese to graze on. Are there types that are better for birds than other livestock, or would a pasture grass mix be the way to go? Thank you for your input. They do go up-n-over the fence and roam the yard quite a bit as well, but I want the barnyard to be specifically tailored for my girls.
