What would happen?

Well you would have fertile eggs, maybe-

the chicks should- if you hatch them...

(this is not a guarantee)

have dark skin, 5 toes on at least one foot, normal feathers (not silkie), be intermediate size, and cute.

My silkie roo fertilized my LF hens no problem, but yours might have trouble with all those fluffy feathers...

my avatar is from that mix also with frizzled gene. He only has 4 toes on both feet, and about half of his feathering is silkie fluff. Also he is the same size as the full cochins I got from the same hatch.

I am new to this so please excuse my ignorance

Does it change if you swap to a silkie hen and a cochin rooster? Part of me wants to feel really stupid for asking that

It seems to change in MY experience -less- then other animals...

the dominant and recessive traits would be nearly the same unless you caused a sex-link mix...

(search sex-links and you'll see what you can and can't use...)
