What would I get?

I have a cuckoo Maran Hen and a Black Cooper Maran Rooster..What would I get if I breed them? Are they compatible?

You'll get sex-linked offspring. The females will be mostly black, the males will be barred with some red here and there. Their egg color will suffer and be lighter than the BC's.

So in order to get chicks that look like the Cooper Maran I will have to have both parents full blooded? Thanks for the input I will take all the help I can get.

It's not that they are not full blooded, but when you cross the two different variety, you will get sex linked morans.

How does that alter their appearance? I know I bought black star sexlinks and the male had white on his head as a baby then turned out to look more like a barred rock and the females stayed mainly black with a little highlight colors of blue and red in the sun?
