What would you do???

Right now I have 10 chickens. I believe that 3 are cockerels. They are about 6 weeks old. I am wanting to replace the cockerels with pullets/hens. I live close to Dunlap hatchery and they are selling all their laying hens for $6 or I can also get red sex links from a farm for $6 that are 7 weeks old. Which would you do? I would love to start having some eggs now but I worry about combining the littles with the adults.

I would probably go with the sex links. You will need to quarantine the babies for 4 weeks anyway then go through introductions. They will be about 12 weeks at least before being mixed in and then you just need to give them some escape routes if the big girls get rough. Perches work well for that. I also usually mix in a bunch of yummy treats around the run to distract the big girls with good stuff.
