I guess that just goes to prove the difference between me and everyone else I guess. If it will help get someone else into a breed, more so a particular variety that is, I will sell my birds as cheap as they can afford. I personally have had GC Bantam Cornish from a gentlemen who's name escapes me now (Lloyd something, from Gainseville, TX). I paid an arm and a leg for a trio. When I sold those birds, after I had hatched a few, I still sold them for far less than what I had in them because it was to a potential showman who wanted them for their FFA project. I look at it from the other side, I will sell myself into more debt from my hobby to get another exhibitor, most especially if it is a 4-H or FFA project. I will never recoop the money I have invested in my birds, and neither will anyone else. But as I have said before, selling a bird for those kind of prices......well anyone who purchases them for that price is nuts!
