I just had a kid tell me that his grandpa in Germany had chickens. He said that when one of his Grandpa's chickens got sick, he would dump it in a bucket of cold water and put it in a cold basement and they would get better. (

I grew up in Germany, never heard that one before......It sounds more like the bucket+cold water+cold basement were a 'celestial transfer' for those poor chicks
