I've read one rooster to 5 or 6 hens and then I've read 1 rooster to 10 hens. What is anyone's advice so that most of my eggs should be fertile?

Also, I have 18 hens and this spring raised an Americauna rooster (was supposed to be a "pullet") and he is now "performing", even with the older girls which I wasn't sure about. I have some new babies, about a month old and some even newer ones with more on the way. Some of these are roosters and I would like to keep enough of them to supply my flock of hens. How will the roosters adapt together?

2 roos would be fine with 18 hens. But when you add more hens then you need to add 1 more roo. Thant's my 2-cents worth.

I have 3 roo's w/my 14 hens. They get along but two of the roo's were chicks when introduced.
