I'm located in vass NC easternish NC. We went to a swimming hole saturday around 1 and cane back around 7. When I got outside I noticed some birds were missing. Around 9 full or half grown bantams from one pen. Around 8 semi grown serama chicks from another pen. The birds were able to get out so I think they were taken from outside the pen. I easmt able to search for them very well as it was dark I just skimmed the yard. That night somthing came and pulled a semi grown duck put of a dog crate left a clump of feathers and an intestine. Today we searched better and found a clump of wings and a foot along with some scat by our fence. In the woods we found one of the birds with its head missing and the crop torn into but not eaten. Iwe found a few prints in the sand but nothing I could get a good pic of. I'm thinking possum or coon. Maybe even a hawk. But it mist have been more then one right because of hoe mnay birds were gone In one sitting?

Given the tracks and the ability to pull a duck out while it was inside of a crate, my bet is on raccoon. You'll need to use hardware wire to keep them from getting in as well as a way to keep them from digging into your pens.
