I have a few chickens,5, I've had for 3 years now. They are all still laying well but one of them has started dropping an egg during the night into the sand without a hardened shell. I have the stuff out for them for that but this one is not getting it, I guess. What could be causing her to drop one at night and why no shell. I had another one do that last year and got rid of her. I won't keep a hen around that doesn't produce for me. I can't afford to feed a dead beat.
