We are keeping Happy. We are gonna keep her in our house where shes safe and she will have the roam of the house. We know we gotta get chicken diapers and have dirt in a box for her but any ideas we should know about? Here where we live is clay..is that good?Where do we get it from thats not sprayed..Shes a lil over 6 weeks old..When does she need grass? And when does she start on grit?Shes eating chick starter now. Thanks

Diapers and keep her on the starter.

She doesn't need grit until she starts eating something other than starter crumbles.

As far as a dirt box, she will make a huge mess... any dirt is fine unless it has just recently been sprayed with some sort of pesticide.

I would say get a bag of kids play sand from
Home depot.
It is coarse so less will be tracked around and it is clean.

We thought about the kids play sand also. But we had a parakeet once that died from eating too much gravel at the bottom of her cage.Could this happen to a chicken with the sand?
