When Romeo (My wether) put his front hubs on the fence and stood up yesterday I noticed this on his chest. Of course he wouldn't stand up again so I can get a good look at it but got my head underneath him while he was eating in the evening. I'm just not sure if it's a wound that has healed or a rash or what. It feels dry no fluid coming out or blood or anything at all. When I touch it it doesn't seem too sensitive. I think he eventually got upset and moved on just from me messing with it. But doesn't seem to be painful. It doesn't seem like anything serious but just wondering what it was and maybe how it got there. Any ideas? It's on his chest in between his two front legs.

i dont have much expirience with goats but it looks like a wound that healed and it has a possible minor infection with a scar that hasnt been cover by his fur. this could be from another goat headbutting him or kicking him harder then intended. i would say put a little bit of antibiotics on it just in case

Looks like a scar to me. Had goats for years and loved them so. Just got too old and moved to town. Now back in country but still old.
if it doesn't bother him ,painful or anything, I wouldn't worry.

I figured it was maybe a scar from one of his epic battles with big mama. Just surprised I didn't see it till it looks like it's healing. Because I spend every afternoon after work with them and pretty much all weekends. It looks 10 times worse than it actually feels. I freaked a little when I first saw it I thought it was fresh but nope. Goats get into so many different things though

Thank you. I feel a little better now Usually when it comes to a scar or even if one is limping for a day I just see it as their goats and they did something crazy and keep an ion it and they always end up fine but the location was so weird and they don't usually get a scar that is that bare. So I guess it just threw me off
