Is there somewhere I can find (or some key words I can search) some indicators of how to tell the sex of EE's?
Thanks

Because of the muffs and beard, you really don't have any wattle development to notice. Until the adult plumage grows, the main difference is the size and color of the comb - the cockerels go red much more quickly.

My EE cockerels were also much more prone to fighting than the girls were.

It would be really helpful. I am struggling with mine.

As far as fighting goes, all four of my EEs love to bump chests, charge and jump on one another! My poor GLWs watch them like they're crazy.

Mine also are bumping chests and tackling one another. It's cute but I'm hoping it's normal. They are almost 5 wks old and are supposed to all be hens.

Is there a way to tell? None of mine have any color comb besides yellowish and small. (or non existent)

Thankx

Anywho the only thing I have noticed is that some have combs coming in. And some have tail feathers. lol

You have to be patient with EE's. I had 7 pullets and 1 roo that slipped by the professional sexer.

My EE's had different combs - - - some were pea and some were the standard comb. So size alone won't do it if you are looking at two different types of combs. There are no wattles because of the beards.

I posted the pic of my 1 roo and said "what is wrong with her? ? why does she look so different from the others? ? Those at BYC said it was because she was a he with the "standard" roo coloring.

By about 4 - 5 weeks we were able to confirm all the shes and hes ! ! !

After sexing EE's, you will get pretty good at sexing any breed.
