What's the story behind "Evil Silkies"?

It's basically just a forum in-joke, and since you're a member, I'll let you in on it...

KellyHM explained it perfectly. Silkies are just too cute; how could they *not* be hiding some sort of malicious plot under all that soft and cuddly fluff? Don't look them in the eyes...
