What's the tallest goat breed?

My cousin says it is the Boer goat. the smallest goat is the Pygmy goat. At least in the US as far as she knows. Correct us if we're wrong.

I don't know the tallest common breed just some exotic ones like the Indian Jamunapari. Nigerian dwarf goats and pygmy are probably tied for smallest. It's somewhat hard to compare since being a meat breed pygmy tend to have the average size figured by weight and being a dairy breed nigerian by height.

The biggest goats I have ever seen were Saanens. No idea how their standard compares to other breeds though.

Yep. I've seen some TALL Nubians, but on average I always thought Saanens were the big'uns.

According to here http://www.ansc.purdue.edu/goat/factsheet/breeds.htm Saanen, Nubian, and Alpine are all the same size. I would think the meat breeds would be larger but I'm not sure about height. I found the weight on Boer as being up to 300lbs which is more than double either of those 3 dairy breeds weigh.

Boers are generally not that tall. I also thought Saanens were the tallest.

I have a Nubian, some Boers, a Saanan and others, but I've never seen a goat taller than an Oberhasli.
