One of my chickens got it's toe stuck in the screened in door a few weeks back. It was just the middle toe . It pushed the cover of that toe off. I waited till bf got home so I could ask him what to do. He said put wound wash on it and watch her. The following day it looked better. She was walking like she wasn't in pain, it wasn't bleeding, no birds were pecking, and she acted herself. Last week she opened the cut again and I put Wound Wash on it. And at the moment she looks better but now that one toe is swollen but the wound wasn't bleeding.

I'm starting to worry about my chicken. What could this be. She is always acting her (personality wise). And she is no longer limping. Is this a normal wound that takes awhile to heal bc it's a chicken that gets whatever she wants (rambunctious). My bf said he will get a farmer he knows to look at it. But I want to know how my babies are NOW :(.

Pictures always help. Seperate her to a clean warm area wah it and apply and antibiotic ointment at least until sometime can look at her.
