Hi,
This is my almost 5 week old pekin x poland chick.
She has been with a broody and was Completly fine and healthy till around 3 days ago. I went to the coop to check on them and she was unable to walk.
Her right leg was spread out behind her. I brought her in my house and slinted that leg as I felt it might be broken at the hock.
But she has no real strength in her legs. When she tries to stand she just tumbles over.
I don't think it's a dificiency. We had a lot of rain a few days ago and I worried she's slipped and injured herself or perhaps her mum has stood on her by mistake. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I've splinted the leg I believe is injured and have been feeding her poultry vitamins etc.
I've also made her a sling so that she's not putting to much weight on her legs

It is very hard to know what is wrong exactly with the leg without getting an xray by a vet, to rule out a fracture. Has she always walked normally, or has her leg turned outward or had any sores on the hock? If we knew more clearly if it was sprained, broken, or perhaps a ruptured hock tendon, then we might have more suggestions on how to care for her.

Chicken slings can be helpful with a lame chicken, as long as they will tolerate being in it. You can place food and water in front in those. Here are some examples including the “nest” on the last page:

she was 100% completley fine and walking normally 3-4 days ago
shes eating and drinking but cant keep her balance to stand up and that one leg cant take any weight. i had a feel of it and cant feel any break but i have splint the leg and have her in a sling.
im giving her chick vitamins and scrambled egg and im hoping she perks up.
im in the uk and lockdown is still in place so its hard to find a vet that can help her so i dont know what to do.

****UPDATE*****

today is day 5...she has plenty of energy. she tries to stand but cant get up.
she can move her legs but cant put weight on them, she doesn't seem to be moving her toes. when she tried to stand up she is mainly leaning on her hocks. (mainly because she cant move her toes)
i have been feeding her chick crumb plus boiled egg and fresh oregano. plus I've been putting poultry vitamin drops in her water.
apart from the leg problem she is completely fine
her poop is normal and fine, shes is eating and drinking fine.
i just cant get my head around what is wrong.
any ideas?
