What's your favorite breed of chicken? I like Cochins, Barred Rocks, and Old English Games.

Feel free to post pictures!

2 of my EEs are the sweetest friendliest girls ever. And I love the bearded faces and earmuffs.
I love the look of the D'Uccles (beards and earmuffs also)
Silkies are just adorable, doofy little balls of fluff. And the "mama" to my little EE love.

Mille Fleur is not a breed...it's a color variety....several breeds do come in the Mille Fleur color...The Pyncheons are recognized in the Mille Fleur color.... I do have Porcelain and a few other colors as well. I've had the breed for about 15 years.

I'm going with Orpington! I have one BO and she is the sweetest girl. I have had to introduce new hens 3 times and she has never once pecked at any of them. The new ones always learn to put her in between them and my black star who is a little bit of a bully. Is it possible for a chicken not to participate in the pecking order, she never pecks anyone and no one ever pecks her, hmm.

Actually the breed is chicken and the "type" is the variety, My favorite is the Cornish but not the CX. They are also known as Indian Game.

People will choose breeds on emotions, pictures, opinions, etc.

What it boils down to, you have to pick up your breed according to your PURPOSE of raising and keeping particular breed.

Unless you want a ZOO of chickens.

There is nothing wrong with that, but then breeding and sustaining a breed becomes the serious issue.
