What's Your Opinion?

Anyone have any thought on the breed and gender of these chicks? The first one I know is a black copper maran and I'm fearing its a boy. Although I have heard that young pullets can exhibit some manly traits? Keeping my fingers crossed. On the others I really don't know. They are about a month or so old I think.

I'm not experienced enough to say, but I did hatch a black copper marans last year (cockeral) but I don't remember any white on him (?)

I was hoping it was another maran but I was thinking it might be an Australorp too.

Actually I'm not so sure about 3 being a speckled Sussex. It's got streaked feathers instead of spotted ones.

I was thinking the same thing. I'm pretty sure 4 is a speckled Sussex, but wasn't sure on the 3rd one.

Do you have any pictures of the stripes on their backs? My Welsummer seems to have lighter stripes than my Speckled Sussex.
